Situated just 50 minutes from Auckland’s CBD, and 40 minutes from Auckland International Airport, experience the Hunua Falls. Hear the sound of rushing water and see the Wairoa river tumble 30 metres over the lip of an ancient volcanic caldera. Our guided walk takes us to the base of this spectacular waterfall which is surrounded by pristine native rainforest. We take the short 20-minute climb to an excellent viewing platform which offers fantastic photo opportunities of the top of the falls and beyond. Soak up the incredible views, as we follow the loop track back to the base of the Hunua Falls. We may even see and hear native birds such as kereru, tui, and fantail amongst the trees.
We drive through Clevedon valley past surrounding countryside that has genuine NZ rural charm. There may be an opportunity to visit a small boutique winery during opening hours for light al fresco dining on the way (Thursday-Sunday optional extra cost). Finally, we visit the beautiful Auckland Botanic Gardens. Considered the South Pacific Garden of Auckland, the Gardens as they are affectionately known showcases spectacular scenery and amazing flora and fauna all year round. Please Note
