Auckland Botanic Gardens Guided Walk- a unique garden tour [3 hours]Tour includes:
This is a shorter tour experience suitable for visitors who are staying at hotels close to Auckland International Airport.
Explore the South Pacific Garden of Auckland. One of our favourite walks that showcases spectacular scenery and amazing flora and fauna all year round. Accessible to all, the Gardens as they are affectionately known are designed to inspire visitors and provide ideas for peoples’ own home gardens. Our guide will share with you this spectacular public garden with it’s award winning extensive plant collections (plants are labelled for identification) that have a unique South Pacific Flavour. Rare and endangered New Zealand plants, a comprehensive collection of weaving flaxes (harakeke) traditionally used by Māori, and a Gondwana Arboretum that showcases primitive trees descended from the ancient southern continent of Gondwana encapsulates the South Pacific, our homeland. A Spring Blossom Valley, with walking tracks through magnificent flowering Magnolias trees and Camellias are a definite feature of the tour. Water features and stunning contemporary sculptures are permanently on display throughout the Gardens. The award-winning contemporary Visitor Centre Huakaiwaka, with café, displays, information and panoramic views is an ideal starting point for your guided walk. Refreshments can be purchased at Café Miko. Relax and sit in or outside the café and enjoy the panoramic setting, an ideal way to finish your tour. Please Note
