Our guided tour takes you on an exploration of some of the best sights in Auckland. We visit the impressive Mt Eden Maungawhau, Auckland’s highest dormant volcano with its expansive 360-degree views of Auckland City. We take a fairly slow steady, at your own pace 10-minute climb to the summit with a few stops along the way to admire the views. We walk around Mt Eden’s bowl like crater and learn about the earth ramparts and terraces that were part of an early fortified Māori pa site thought to be abandoned around 1700 AD.
We take a leisurely drive through Auckland Domain to the gorgeous Wintergardens. Where we visit two stunning Victorian glasshouses home to rare and spectacular plants. There is an opportunity to purchase refreshments at the Domain Wintergarden Café during opening hours with many beautiful spots to just sit down and relax. We take the scenic waterfront drive around Auckland’s eastern bays to the Michael Joseph Savage Memorial Park with spectacular views overlooking Waitemata Harbour and Rangitoto Island and take an optional short walk to Bastion Point Takaparawhā.
